Looking for an outdoor cat?  Look no further!

HSJC at times receives cats who simply do not want to be pets.  These cats are either feral/wild cats who arrived as strays in humane traps, or cats who don’t appreciate attention from people and would rather be outside roaming.  Many of these cats despise being housed in a cage, and cannot be kept long term at the shelter without declining.

That’s where our barn cat list comes in!  If you’re seeking a cat to live outside only (with some form of shelter from wild animals and the elements) and simply be a mouser, whether you’d like them to want attention from you at times or whether you’d rather they kept a distance, call us!  We’ll add your name to our “barn cat list” and will call you as soon as we have a kitty meeting your needs available.  Barn cats typically come to us mainly in the warmer months, mainly because they make their presence known during breeding season.  These cats are fixed, micro-chipped, and given an FVRCP and rabies vaccine before going into your care – all at no cost to you!  Call us or email us today to get on our list.
